What is Global Modules In Hubspot COS and How to create it ?

September 28, 2017

How often have you been frustrated when you need to change a single item, enter the contact number in the header of your website, on all pages on your site? Are there some elements in the footer you want, should be on the specific pages of the webpage? Sometimes adding the same items across multiple web pages can take a lot of time and frustration as it involves doing the same things over and over on individual pages.

So if you want to add the same full page title, footer, banner, call to action, testimonial section or more on multiple pages, you can turn them into global modules so they can be used on your pages as many times as you like.

HubSpot COS Development takes a holistic approach to your website to ensure that every visitor gets the information and experience they need to maximise conversions.

What is a Global Module?

Global modules are groups or sets of modules that can be used multiple times on a Web site. When a particular module becomes a global element, it is stored in the COS Hubspot library as a special element.

The advantage of Global Modules:

  • This saves time.
  • In Hubspot COS, you can simply select all the modules you want to make global. COS provides the most convenient process for creating global modules.
  • When you click a button, you can insert the global module into any page of the site.
  • If there are changes to a particular element in the global module, developers can change them for once, and all changes will affect all the pages on which the global module has been deployed.
  • Provides consistency throughout the site.
  • Almost all elements of web design could be integrated into a global module.
  • If you are worried about consistency across your website, global modules will ensure that your website looks consistent on every page.

The most important elements you could include in the global module.

Logo: You really want to make sure that your brand is visible on every page and that your visitors know that everything they consume from the website is given by your brand. This is the most important element in terms of brand awareness that could be inserted into your overall module.

Header: There are several elements that go into the header of your website, including browsing the site and it becomes tedious to include the same repetitively in all web pages.

Therefore, having a global module with the header section could save time and effort.

Image slider: If there is a new product arrival or special discounts or other offers that you want to highlight in the important pages of your website, you can group it with other elements of the site to insert them with the minimum effort.

Form: If you want the same form to appear on multiple pages to activate your lead generation goals, simply include them in the global module so they can be entered on the pages you want.

Footer: Like the header, the footer has certain elements that must be omnipresent, which is an unavoidable element in its general module.

Social sharing: There may be important pages on your website that you want visitors to share. Therefore, having social sharing buttons is inevitable, and therefore, becomes an important element in a global module.

Call to Action: This could be useful if you have a special offer you want to post on a few pages. To create the call to action, edit any page and add a standard section. You can use the "call to action" module, or add a text module, then a button module.

In addition to that, there are more elements that could be included in your overall module. It depends on what specific elements are important in terms of user experience and your online marketing goals and gets ready made HubSpot COS Templates.

Looking for information what is a global module and what elements it used to develop and use multiple times.

Creating Global Modules:

Global Modules are groups of various modules that can be re-used throughout your website. A great example of a Global Module is your site header. Say you download the template and adjust your site header to be just as you want it. Beautiful! Perfect! Now on to an Interior Page... except, wait a minute! Your header on the Interior Page is still the straight-out-of-the-box variety, not that glorious header you so carefully designed on the homepage.

Follow the Given Step:

1. In your template, locate the modules in your header. These are going to be grouped.

2. Click on the “Group Modules” button. Clicking on individual modules will turn them green.

3. When you have all of the modules in your header highlighted green, click the “Create Group” button.

4. Grouped modules will have an additional gray box around all of the modules. To make the group a Global group, click the gear icon on the group, then choose “Make Group Global.”

5. Make sure to give your new Global Group a location and a descriptive name. Then click save.

6. You will see that the modules are now grouped into a single green module instead of a bunch of gray modules. This is your way of knowing which modules are Global and which are page specific.

The global module is a smart option to ensure that you don’t have to develop the same elements that are to be used in multiple pages. In addition to that, it saves time, increases efficiency and ensures that you don’t miss on certain elements that could be the game-changer in your marketing efforts.
